Real Change Happens
at the Cellular Level

Most facials work on the surface. DMK Enzyme Therapy takes a fundamentally different approach. Using transfer messenger enzymes, the treatment works with your skin's own biochemistry to flush impurities, restore oxygenation, and stimulate genuine cellular renewal.

Developed by botanist and biochemist Danné Montague King over 50 years ago, DMK remains the only skin care company in the world to use these enzymes in this way. The philosophy is simple: remove dead material, rebuild living cells, protect the new skin, and maintain the results long term.

DMK Enzyme Therapy
May Suit You If

Congestion and Breakouts

Persistent blemishes, blackheads, or recurring breakouts that have not responded to regular facials or over the counter products.

Premature Ageing

Early fine lines, loss of firmness, or a complexion that has started to look dull and tired despite a consistent home care routine.

Uneven Skin Tone

Pigmentation, sun damage, or post inflammatory discolouration that leaves your complexion looking patchy and uneven.

Scarring

Acne scarring or textural irregularities that make your skin look and feel rough, even after breakouts have subsided.

Sensitivity and Redness

Reactive skin, persistent redness, or conditions like rosacea where gentler treatments that support natural skin function are preferred.

You Want Lasting Results

You have tried surface level treatments without meaningful change and are ready for a structured programme that addresses the underlying cause.

DMK Enzyme Therapy treatment

How DMK Enzyme
Therapy Works

DMK Enzyme Therapy uses a process called reverse osmosis. The enzyme mask is applied and left to set for approximately 45 minutes. During this time, fluids are forced through the cell wall membrane, flushing out impurities and cellular waste from the surrounding matrix.

Simultaneously, the treatment improves peripheral circulation, dilating capillaries to deliver fresh oxygenated blood and nutrients to living skin cells. This dual action cleanses existing cells while creating the optimal environment for new, healthy cell activity.

What to Expect During
Your Treatment

01

Skin Consultation

Your therapist begins with a thorough assessment of your skin, discussing your concerns, history, and goals. This ensures the treatment is tailored specifically to your skin's needs and current condition.

02

Cleanse and Preparation

A professional three step cleanse removes all surface impurities, followed by gentle exfoliation to prepare the skin for optimal enzyme absorption. This creates a clean canvas for the active treatment.

03

Enzyme Mask Application

The DMK enzyme mask is applied and left to set for approximately 45 minutes. You will feel a tightening sensation as the mask hardens. During this time, the reverse osmosis and plasmatic effect take place, drawing blood flow to the surface and flushing cellular waste.

04

Removal and Aftercare

The mask is carefully removed, revealing the plasmatic effect: a visible pattern of dilated capillaries across the skin. This fades within 20 to 30 minutes. Personalised aftercare products are applied to hydrate, protect, and support ongoing cellular renewal.

The Plasmatic
Effect

After approximately 45 minutes under the enzyme mask, a visible network of dilated capillaries appears across the skin's surface. This is known as the plasmatic effect, and it is unique to DMK Enzyme Therapy.

This response indicates that peripheral blood circulation has been stimulated, extracellular fluids have been equalised, and fresh nutrients are being delivered to living cells. It is a tangible sign that the treatment has engaged your skin's natural repair processes. No other facial produces this visible response.

What DMK Enzyme
Therapy Delivers

Restored Clarity

By flushing cellular waste and stimulating oxygenation, the skin appears clearer and more refined after each treatment session.

Cellular Renewal

The enzyme action works beneath the surface to encourage the production of new, healthy cells and support collagen and elastin activity.

Improved Tone

Pigmentation, redness, and uneven skin tone are addressed through increased circulation and the removal of dead material from the skin matrix.

Strengthened Barrier

Rather than stripping the skin, DMK works with its natural chemistry to restore function and build a more resilient, healthier barrier over time.

No Downtime

The plasmatic effect fades within 20 to 30 minutes of mask removal. Clients can return to their regular routine on the same day with no recovery period required.

Progressive Improvement

Each session builds on the last. A structured programme of treatments produces cumulative results, moving the skin closer to optimal function over time.

Pre and Post Care

Following these guidelines supports the treatment process and helps you achieve the best possible outcome from each session.

Before Your Treatment
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for 48 hours prior
  • Discontinue retinoids, exfoliating acids, or harsh active products 48 hours before
  • Arrive with clean skin, free from makeup where possible
  • Advise your therapist of any recent treatments, medications, or skin changes
  • Ensure Isotretinoin use has ceased for at least six months prior
After Your Treatment
  • Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours following your session
  • Wear broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen whenever outdoors
  • Use only the gentle, oil free products recommended by your therapist
  • Avoid strong exfoliants, retinol, and acids for three to five days
  • Mild peeling or dryness is normal and indicates healthy cell turnover
  • Stay hydrated and avoid saunas, steam rooms, and intense exercise for 24 hours

Frequently Asked
Questions

DMK Enzyme Therapy is a professional paramedical skin treatment that uses transfer messenger enzymes to work at the cellular level. Unlike conventional facials that treat the surface, DMK stimulates the skin's own biochemistry through a process of reverse osmosis, flushing impurities, restoring oxygenation, and encouraging natural cellular renewal. It was developed by botanist and biochemist Danné Montague King over 50 years ago.
This varies depending on your individual skin concerns and goals. A typical DMK programme involves 4 to 12 sessions. The first two treatments are generally spaced one to two weeks apart, followed by sessions every two to four weeks during the active phase. Once your skin is functioning well, maintenance sessions are recommended every 30 days, extending to every six to twelve weeks over time. Your therapist will develop a personalised plan during your initial consultation.
DMK Enzyme Therapy is not painful. You will experience a tightening sensation as the enzyme mask hardens over approximately 45 minutes, which some clients describe as unusual at first but entirely comfortable. There is no stinging, burning, or discomfort associated with the treatment.
The plasmatic effect is a visible network of dilated capillaries that appears on the skin's surface after the enzyme mask is removed. It indicates that blood circulation has been stimulated and nutrients are being delivered to living skin cells. This effect is unique to DMK and fades within 20 to 30 minutes. It is a positive indicator that the treatment is working as intended.
There is no downtime. The plasmatic effect fades within 20 to 30 minutes and clients can return to their regular activities immediately. Some clients may experience mild peeling or dryness in the days following treatment, which is a normal sign of healthy cell turnover. We recommend avoiding makeup for 24 hours and direct sun exposure for 48 hours after each session.
DMK Enzyme Therapy is suitable for all skin types and a wide range of concerns including acne, premature ageing, pigmentation, scarring, sensitivity, redness, and general skin health maintenance. However, it may not be suitable for those with open wounds, active skin infections, severe sunburn, or those currently using Isotretinoin (or within six months of discontinuing). Your therapist will assess suitability during your consultation.
DMK recommends a home prescriptive programme to support and extend the results of your in clinic treatments. These products are consultation only and are selected specifically for your skin type and concerns. Your therapist will guide you on which products to use and when to adjust your routine as your skin progresses through the programme.
